IRP 14th bn takes out ‘Route March’

Jammu, June 4: The Indian Reserve Police (IRP)-14th battalion today organized an inspiring ‘Route March’ to enhance the health standard of Jawans in which about  199 officers and officials including GO’s/NGOs and others participated.
The ‘Route March’ commenced from CTC Sunjwan after it was flagged, off by Rashmi Wazir- SSP, Commandant IRP- 14th Bn.
While speaking on the occasion the Commandant said foot march is one of the best ways to improve and maintain fitness. “Route marches are an excellent aerobic activity. They help develop endurance in the muscles of the lower body of the Jawans when they carry heavy load. Route March offers several benefits when used as part of a fitness program. They are easy to organize, and large number of Jawans including officers and official can participate. In addition, when done in an intelligent, systematic, and progressive manner, they produce relatively few injuries,” she added.
The Route March which started from CTC Sunjwan after passing through different places reached at Chowadhi and then culminated at ‘T’ crossing Chowadhi, covering a distance of approximately  10 Kilometres.
The ‘Route March’ was organized under the directions of Lalat Indu Mohanty, ADGP Armed and Yoginder Kaul, IGP IRP Jammu Zone to keep the cops in good health and high degree of alertness. SP’s Prabh Dayal Sharma, Yogesh Sharma and Paramjeet Singh along with other GOs also participated in the Route March.
