IOCL launches Advance Winter Stocking programme for Ladakh

JAMMU, Apr 30: To meet the fuel needs of Ladakh during the harsh winter, the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) launched its Advance Winter Stocking (AWS) programme here today.
Rajit Singh Raina, President of All J&K Oil Tank Truck Drivers Union & Anan Sharma, President owner Union, flagged of the first fleet of Oil Tankers in Jammu for Ladakh.
Senior IOCL Officers and Transporters including L.N Mohanty Sr. Depot Manager IOCL attended the program.
Drivers Union President, Raina emphasized the importance of this annual stocking due to Ladakhs seasonal isolation, requesting support from authorities along the Jammu – Leh Highway for safe passage of fuel carrying vehicles.
He urged the authorities to provide necessary logistic support to the drivers and crew members of these fuel carrying vehicles.
Speaking on the occasion, Raina further stated that several oil tankers along with drivers from Jammu depot have been deputed to Himachal and Srinagar for transportation of fuel under AWS to Ladakh region. These drivers will remain there till the conclusion of AWS season.
Among others who were present during the event included Anwar Malik, Manager operations IOCL, Chaman Lal (Transporter), Surinder Singh, Harasis Singh and senior members of the Tanker Union.
