INTUC discusses arrangements for May Day

UDHAMPUR, Apr 25: A meeting of Indian National trade Union Congress (INTUC) was held at PHE Complex, here today, under the chairmanship of Som Nath, vice-president of the PHE Employees Association and senior INTUC leader.
The leaders of different departments participated in the meeting, agenda of which was finalization of the May Day programme. All the members assured full attendance on the occasion of May Day and appealed the Government to declare May Day as Gazetted holiday.
The meet also discussed the long pending demands, which include release of pending wages, regularization of the workers, filling up of vacant posts in different departments, DPC in all the departments after every six months, change of designation of the employees as per nature of work, enhancement of wages, release of DA and revising sanctioned strength of the departments.
While addressing the meet, Som Nath appealed the employees of Jammu province to remain united and protect themselves from some self styled leaders.
Others who spoke on the occasion, included  Vijay Kumar Sharma, Baldev Raj, Rattan Singh, Ram Parshad Gupta, Anil Gupta, Subash Chander, Ali Hussain, Tej Bahadur Singh, Darbara Singh, Barkat Ali, Shiv Lal, Krishan Lal, Kuldeep Kumar, Janait Ali, Som Raj Jandial, Amardev Singh, Mohinder Singh, Ved Parkash, Charan Dass, Ranjit Kumar and Ganesh Chand.
