JAMMU, Dec 23: Tribal Research & Cultural Foundation (TRCF) here today demanded that Gojri language should be introduced at post graduate and under-graduate level in State universities and degree colleges.
In a programme of TRCF presided over by Dr. Javaid Rahi of TRCF the current scenario of Gojri language and culture was discussed.
Speaking on the occasion Dr Rahi said, Gojri is fast emerging language of the State with rich treasures modern literature besides Folk and Classic Literature at its back.
He said presently more than one thousand books are available in Gojri in J&K and adjoining States.
The participants in the programme urged the Governor who is also Chancellor of Jammu University to intervene and direct JU to start Gojri Research Centre in its Poonch Campus from the upcoming academic session.
Those who spoke on the occasion were Ishtiaq Ahmad, Misbah, Khalid Chowdhary, Mehmood Ahmed and others.
