REASI, July 7: After a period of over three and half months, intra-district bus service resumed today in Reasi district, though maintaining social distancing while ferrying the passengers, in future.
“A total of 15 busses plied on 5 different routes today and with the requirement we’ll increase the number. Some new routes are also being identified for the convenience of the people,” said Shiv Dev Singh Thakur, Chairman District Reasi Busses Association.
“As far as the security and safety of the passengers is concerned, we’re already abiding by the rules by carrying only 67 percent of the passengers in our buses on other routes. In addition to this, we have been providing our passengers with the masks and sanitizers, keeping their safety in mind,” he added.
President of the Association, Mahan Singh, said that the district administration has had always been cooperative and they have also assured full cooperation in following the precautions against COVID-19.
Meanwhile, a new body of the Association was unanimously framed on Monday. As per the release, Shiv Dev Singh Thakur was appointed as the chairman-cum-legal advisor of the Association, Mahan Singh as president, Sandeep Singh as general secretary, Ravi Kumar Sharma as vice-president, Sohan Singh as joint secretary, Pawan Kumar as treasurer, Purshotam Singh as press secretary, Vicky Sharma and Vijay Singh as associate secretaries, and Ranjeet Singh, Mohammad Sadiq, Sunil Sharma and Vinay Singh as executive members.
