JAMMU, Dec 13: A three-days International Case Study Conference (INCSC-2017) was concluded today with the valedictory session at SMVD University.
During the conference, five technical sessions were conducted in which 29 cases and papers were presented by the participants. The Best Case Study award was presented to Surabhi, the research scholar of DAV University, Jalandhar, for her case titled, ‘The Surgical Strike at Tata Group’ and Dr Rupa Mahajan of University of Jammu got the best paper award for her paper titled, ‘Value Creation through Behaviour based Competencies in Higher Education’.
The conference also included sessions by the case experts intended to understand the importance of qualitative research and case based research for tackling the business uncertainties. Prof Manoj Joshi, Director, Centre of Vuca Studies, discussed the different categories of cases; how to prepare them; the importance of teaching plan for cases and how and where to get the cases published.
The importance of caselets in classroom teaching was discussed by Devang Patel of Xcellon School of Business, Ahmedabad. Online interaction with Shri Parmesh Venkates-waran, Head Marketing, Stanely, Black and Decker, UAE was focused on understanding the importance of qualitative insights in brand connect.
Ritesh Garg, Founder CEO, Yuva Prerna Yatra motivated the participants to experience for better expression in case writing. Prof D Krishna Sundar, IIM Bangalore, emphasized the need for organizing such conferences where academicians and practitioners get an opportunity to share their research based India centric cases across various disciplines for valuable addition to India centric case repository.
Dr Sushil Mehta, Director, School of Business, SMVDU, in his address emphasized the need for organizing more such conferences dedicated to qualitative research and case based research. Dr. Saurabh, Convener of the conference, sought the feedback of the participants during the valedictory and Dr Rashi Taggar, organizing secretary of the conference, presented the report of the conference and delivered the vote of thanks.
