JAMMU, June 3: Universal Film Makers’ Council (UFMC), India in association with Harman Cultural and Educational Society, Jammu is going to organize an International Film Festival at Katra in the month of August.
Addressing a press conference here today, Dr M A Mummugati (president, UFMC and chairman, Nava Karnataka Film Academy) said that UFMC is organizing film festivals across India, the latest being Karnataka Film festival and Goa Film Festival. He was flanked by Gurvinder Kaur (general secretary of Harman Cultural and Educational Society) and others.
He said in association with local film artists and organizations, the UFMC is also going to organizing an International Film Festival in Jammu at Katra in the first week of august. “More than 100 films throughout India will be screened in this two-day film festival and awards will be given in various categories,” he added.
Dr Mummugati said, “This film festival would be a congregation of the best of films and music, filmmakers, music artists, other allied talent. Filmmakers have been invited to submit their original films – fiction, documentary or shorts and music videos. The purpose of the festival is to promote the creative ecosystem of the UT.”
On the occasion, Dr Mummugati along with other dignitaries, also launched a logo of the upcoming International Film Festival of J&K.
