Interactive session on ‘Nurturing Innovations & Entrepreneurship in Academia’ held at CUJ

JAMMU, Sept 22: Padmashree Prof  Kasturi Lal Chopra, who is former Director at IIT Kharagpur, Honorary Professor in IIT Delhi, IITBhb, IIEST, ITM and chairman, BoG, BBIT, today delivered lecture at the inaugural interactive session,  organised by the University Business Incubation Centre at Central University of Jammu.
The  interactive session on “Nurturing Innovations and Entrepreneurship in Academia” was organised to inculcate the entrepreneurial skills amongst the students.
Prof  Chopra  emphasised on generating knowledge power by inculcating creativity through Human Resources. He  focused on building entrepreneural skills that contribute towards an individual’s overall success. He also discussed the concept of innovation through research and development. He emphasised on knowledge based active learning which includes transformational, translational and integrational learning.
Prof  Chopra differentiated human resource development strategies and initiatives that are required to be successful. He emphasised on the importance of strengthening Entrepreneurship for national development. He also emphasised on developing leadership skills among the students for taking initiatives towards developing new business avenues.
Prof  Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor, CUJ has announced that besides providing infrastructural facilities, the University would also facilitate the entrepreneurs in collecting of seed capital for the business idea.
Earlier, Prof Lokesh Verma, Academic Coordinator,  highlighted the importance of University Business Incubation Centre.
Prof  Deepak Raj Gupta, Convener, Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship Council,  emphasised on the role of entrepreneurial skills development and presented a formal vote of thanks.
The proceeding of the session was conducted Dr  Jaya Bhasin, Chairperson, University Business Incubation Centre. The programme was coordinated by Dr Shahid Mushtaq, Manager UBIC. All the faculty members and managing committee members were present on the occasion.
Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship Council,  headed by CUJ Vice Chancellor Prof  Ashok Aima, was created recently for  promoting innovation, incubation and entrepreneurship.
