Interactive session held on `Role & Responsibilities of PRIs’

JAMMU, Dec 10: J&K Panchayati Raj and Rural Areas Welfare Society (PARAS) organized a one day interactive session on Role and responsibilities, power and functions of representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions under J&K Panchayat Raj Act and Rules and for implementation of State /Central schemes for Welfare of rural population.
More than 90 representative of PRIs, including Sarpanchs and Panchs and grass root level functionaries of RDD, participated and enlightened with regard to the methodology to be adopted for discharge of their responsibilities under various provisions of J&K Panchayati Raj Act and Rules for overall development of Villages while implementing the State & Central schemes under different Sectors.
D P Khajuria, M A Sadiq and O P Gupta of PARAS dwelt at length on various aspects useful for development of villages and welfare of the villages for their economic upliftment and also to check migration from rural areas especially of youth.
