KATHUA, Aug 14: In continuation to drive launched by District Police Kathua against vehicle/Bike lifters operating in this District, Kathua it achieved a major success by apprehending one interstate vehicle lifter namely Vikramjeet @ Vicky S/o Janak Raj R/o Kathyalpur Tehsil & District Pathankote from village Khoo Balasan where he had acquired a temporary rented accommodation.
Police said that he was operating from same village in stealing vehicles and selling the stolen vehicles at cheaper rates. During sustained questioning he confessed his involvement in Motor vehicle theft cases in the jurisdictions of Police Station Rajbagh/Kathua.
On his disclosure, seven motorcycles (Passion Pro=03 Nos, Splendor=03 Nos and Bajaj Discover=01 No) were recovered by police. In this way seven theft cases of Police Station Rajbagh and Kathua were solved. His associates who also belong to Pubjab State are absconding. The Police has launched a manhunt for them.
The interrogation of the suspect is going on, police said adding, it is expected that he will disclose many links/recovery of more vehicles. The recovery of the motorcycles made by SI Dalbagh Rai Bali, I/C PP Chadwal under the supervision of SP Kathua, Neeva Jain-IPS and SDPO Border, Diwakar Singh.
