JAMMU, May 24: Satwari police today busted inter-State sex racket with the arrest of seven persons including one woman from Amritsar and six locals.
Police spokesman said that, on getting information about sex racket active in Jeevan Nagar, SDPO South Udhay Bhaskar Billa issued formal orders to Satwari police to conduct raid.
Police party from Satwari police station led by Probationer DySP Shabir Khan under the supervision of officiating SSP Rajeshwar Singh conducted raid in a house at Jeevan Nagar and arrested seven persons including lady kingpin and one woman hailing from Amritsar, he added.
He said the owner of the house, where from this sex racket was operating, was also arrested. Hehas been identified as Pawanjeet Singh, son of Romesh Chander.
The three others accused namely Kamaljeet Singh, son of Ramesh Chander of Sunderpur, Rakesh, son of Puran Chand and Manmohan Singh, both residents of Chatha Farm were also arrested.
The lady kingpin use to supply J&K girls to Himachal Pradesh, New Delhi and Punjab. She also had contacts with the sex workers outside J&K, whome she used to bring here after offering them high payments.
A case under FIR number 77/13 under Section 3/4/5 Immoral Trafficking Act has been registered at Satwari police station, he said, adding that more arrests are likely to be made in near future.
