Inter-state narco smugglers in Udhampur police net

UDHAMPUR, Mar 21: Udhampur police arrested inter-state narcotic smugglers along with 14.5 kilograms of poppy straw.
As per police sources, police team from police station Udhampur raised a naka at Jakhani and intercepted a Maruti car bearing registration number PB18G-5655.
During checking, police recovered 14.5 kilograms of poppy straw and arrested three inter-state drugs peddlers.
The accused have been identified as Munish Kumar, son of Ramesh Chander and Suresh Kumar, son of Omkar Nath, both residents of Gurdaspur and Mukhtyiar Ahmed, son of Ghulam Mohammad Dar of Shopian.
A case under FIR number 101/15 under Section 8/15 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at police station Udhampur and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Udhampur police station Inspector Mahesh Sharma made the arrest under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Gourav Mahajan and SSP Udhampur Suleman Choudhary.
