Inter-state gang of extortionists busted; weapons, live cartridges, etc recovered

JAMMU, May 4: Bishnah police today busted inter-state gang of burglars-cum-extortionists and recovered large quantity of stolen items along with weapons and live cartridges.
A police spokesman said that, police team from Bishnah police station led by SHO Narinder Singh laid a naka at Kot Morh Bishnah and intercepted a group of pedestrians.
During search, police recovered one country made pistol along with 3 rounds of .303, 2 revolvers, three sharp edged weapons, 16 rounds of 12 bore, 2 empty  cartridges of .303, 121.72 grams of gold, 200 grams of silver, 1 LCD Videocon (big), 52 mobile phones comprising, 3 motorcycles, 1 gas cylinder, 1 computer, LED Samsung, UPS, monitor, Keypad, another monitor of AOC, CPU, mouse, 1 Nikon camera, 1 Videocon camera and number of  coins.
The accused have been identified as Rohit Kumar, son of Rajan Kumar of Habowal, Civil lines Ludhiana, Vipin Kumar, son of Bua Ditta of Ward No 12 Bishnah, Sandeep Kumar, son of Vijay Kumar of Street No 5 Janak Puri, Ludhiana, Sunil Kumar alias Mohit, son of Rakesh Kumar of Ludhiana and Akshay Kumar, son of Beli Ram of Ward No. 13 Bishnah.
With the arrested of these accused, 17 cases of burglaries and thefts including 12 cases of police station Bishnah, one case of extortion at Ratnal Petrol Pump, Bishnah and four cases of district Samba were solved.
A case under FIR number 66/14 under Section 3/25-A and 4/25-A Act has been registered and investigation is going on.
