JAMMU, Nov 21: Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu under the banner of Sahodaya School Complex organized Interschool Folk Song Competition, here.
The Competition commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the chief guest, Vikas Kundal, SDM, R.S Pura and other dignitaries followed by welcome song presented by the students of primary classes.
In her welcome address by Rohini Aima, Principal cum Vice-Chairperson said that music is life in itself which bring a motive to love and Folk music is not so much a body of art as it is a process, an attitude and a way of life.
Talented participants from all the leading schools participated in the competition. The choir from the participating schools mesmerized the audience with their skillful rendition of folk songs from different States of the country.
The competition was adjudged by Brij Mohan, renowned music director, composer and poet and Jeevan Kumar, famous radio singer.
The teams were judged for Swara, Taal, Selection of Raga, Composition and Overall Impression.
The participants were complemented by the judges on their stellar performance.
Team 3 representing G.D Goenka won first prize  and team 1 representing Jodhamal Public school secured second position and third position was shared by team  4 of  Model Academy and  team 8 of Jammu Sanskriti school, Jammu.
The winners of the competition were awarded certificates and trophies by the chief guest and judges of the day.
