JAMMU: In order to ensure and streamline the supply of quality agriculture inputs to farmers, intensive field inspections of various distribution centres of seeds, pesticides and fertilizers were carried out today Assistant Director Law Enforcement, S Baljeet Singh Raina, along with Law Enforcement Inspector, Rohit Gupta.
Samples were also drawn from the dealers for quality check to ensure good quality inputs to farmers at reasonable prices and to create quality consciousness among all the dealers.
While inspecting M/s Chambal Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd, it was found that no proper record was made available and more over the premises were changed without proper permission from the concerned authorities. Further, while inspecting M/s Jammu Agri Inputs, Ware House Jammu, various contraventions of Seed Act 1966 and Insecticides Act 1968 have been observed and notice was served to them on spot.
During inspection the team directed all the dealers to display valid license, maintain stocks and sale registers, display of fertilizers sale rates which is mandatory under Seeds Act 1966, Insecticide Act 1968 and Fertilizer Control Order 1985.
