Intensification of work on Naigadh Water Supply Scheme demanded

KISHTWAR, Jan 11: Expressing serious concern over the water scarcity being faced by people in Kishtwar town and Kandi belt of the hilly district, Congress leader and Civil Society member, Shamsher Singh Bhandari has demanded intensification of work on Naigadh Water Supply Scheme.
He said the water supply scheme on which work was started five years back has to provide drinking water to Kishtwar town and other adjoining areas, has not been completed and work on it is going on snail’s pace due to which the people continue to face the problem.
Expressing concern over traffic congestion in Kishtwar town putting people and passers by to grave problems, he demanded widening of road from Kuled Chowk to Malehpeth immediately.
Bhandari alleged that the people especially patients going for treatment in the district Hospital Kistwar face problems and there is shortage of both doctors as well as para medical staff. He said even there is also shortage of staff in other sub district hospitals and health centers in the district.
He also demanded that Food and Civil Supplies and Public Distribution Department should take steps in supplying the food grains ad Kerosene Oil in the remote and snow bound areas of the district.
