SRINAGAR, Mar 23: Financial Commissioner Agriculture Production Department, Pramod Kumar Jain, today convened a meeting to review progress of various ongoing developmental works and centrally sponsored schemes of the department in the Kashmir Division.
Director Agriculture Kashmir Showkat Ahmad Beigh, Joint Directors of Agriculture Production and senior officers of the department attended the meeting.
The meeting was briefed about the physical and financial achievements made by the department on various Central and State Sponsored Schemes.
On the occasion, Jain emphasized the officers to gear up extension agencies to reach out to the farmers for transferring technology and providing quality inputs to increase the production.
He laid emphasis on integrated farming which, he said, will play a pivotal role in raising economic standards of farmers. He urged the officers to cover the left-out farmers under Kisan Credit Card scheme, so as to enable them hassle free, timely, adequate and affordable credit, by April 2017.
Later, the Financial Commissioner took stock of supply of Kharif seeds and availability of chemical fertilizers. He was informed that there is no shortage of Kharif seeds and chemical fertilizers in any district across the Valley.
