JAMMU, Oct 6: After resuming third phase of agitation today to demand early and satisfactory wage revision and one more option for pension, the LIC employees held massive demonstrations outside LIC offices in the State as per the decision of the Joint Front of Unions in LIC.
As per the call, a massive demonstration during lunch time was held outside DO Cell Jammu jointly led by Pawan Gupta, divisional secretary, NZIEA Srinagar Division, Narinder Sharma, secretary, LIC Class-1 Federation, Rakesh Magotra of NFIFWI and Ramesh Kumar of NOINO.
Speaking on the occasion, the speakers said that the wage revision of LIC employees has been due since August 1, 2012 and it has been since more than three years that no proper response is there from the Management despite the positive attitude of the employees, who had postponed their proposed strike on July 8, 2015 on the assurance of the management that it will seriously take up the issue with the Government.
The employees lambasted the NDA Government for its anti working class policies and warned of intensifying the struggle if the management does not come forward with a proposal as per the strength of the industry and also as per aspirations of the employees.
They said that they won’t let link their wage revision with any other industry and also any conditionality of Mobility or the Biometrics will not be acceptable to the employees. It was also appealed to all the employees to strictly implement the call of not working after office hours.
The demonstrations were led by Tilak at Samba, Vijay at Kathua, Jagdeesh at RS Pura, Ravinder at Udhampur, Ram Raj at Kathua, Neeraj at Poonch and Khaliq at Rajouri.
