Sir,
It is welcome more that the Government has directed the Drug and Food Control Organisation (DFCO) to conduct inspection of medical Stores, particularly in rural areas.
Taking advantage of lack of supervision in rural areas, the pharmaceutical companies in connivance with doctors and medical stores would dump their low quality and banned drugs in rural areas. The Customers unaware of these drugs, would consume them. This way they get robbed of money and health.
It is quite imperative that the DFCO keeps a constant vigil over medical stores across the length and breadth of the State. And take stern action against all those found guilty.
Besides, it should be ensured that the quality medicine be available at all Primary Health Centre (PHCs) both in urban as well as rural areas.
There is need to improve rural health sector which still remains inadequate to cater the needs of the people there. Only a sustained effort will ensure that.
Yours etc.
