JAMMU, Oct 14: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee president Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz today termed Inspector Shakti Devi of Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) who was awarded with prestigious International Female Peacekeeper Award by the United Nations’ Police Division, as an inspiration for young girls.
Shakti Devi was awarded for her “exceptional achievements” in her duty with the UN mission in Afghanistan, including her efforts towards helping victims of sexual and gender-based violence. Currently, she is deployed in the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA).
Appreciating her achievement, Prof Soz said she has made J&K proud and expressed hope that young children, especially girls, will take inspiration from Inspector Shakti Devi. The big lesson for them is that if they stay on the right path and work hard, there is no limit to what they can achieve, he added.
