JAMMU, Sept 9: Choudhary Rashid Azam Inqlabi, Vice-President of IGM, has raised a serious concern over the alleged violation of reservation rules in the recruitment of the Assistant Professors in different medical colleges of the Union Territory.
In an open letter addressed to the Lieutenant Governor, Inqlabi claimed that the Jammu and Kashmir Public Services Commission issued a notification number 35-PSC (Dir-P) of 2023 dated August 3, 2023, inviting applications for 125 Assistant Professor Positions in the medical colleges.
Out of these posts, he said, 51 were designated for the RBA category, 24 for SCs and 75 for open category.
However, Inqlabi said, in violation of rules, none of the posts were reserved for the Scheduled Tribes, Pahari Speaking people, Other Social Castes or for the candidates residing near the Actual Line of Control/Border area.
“This blatant omission goes against the established reservation rules,” he said.
He appealed the Lieutenant Governor to personally investigate this matter, as people of Jammu and Kashmir had great hopes for the administration to ensure justice for the backward clases and residents of remote areas.
Instead, he said, “it seems the administration is determined to disregard the established legal procedures.”
Further, Choudhary Inqlabi pointed out that the General Administration Department issued order number GAD MTGORBIV/200/2021-09 on March 30, 2022, which directs various departments to maintain fresh reservation rosters when referring posts to recruiting agencies.
This directive is in direct contradiction to the Reservation Act of 2005 and SRO 294 of 2005 and stands against the core principle of the Indian Constitution, he said.
