JAMMU, Dec 18: The inmates of KP Migrant Camp Nagrota held a meeting with Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, R K Pandita during his visit to the camp and discussed the burning problems of camp inmates with him.
The meeting was also attended by Executive Engineer Relief Er. R K Bhat and other officers of the Relief organization including Zonal Officer etc. The Camp inmates demanded immediate redressal of the problems.
Mr Pandita assured the delegation that he will take all possible steps in mitigating the problems of camp inmates. He said the necessary directions will be issued to the concerned authorities soon in this regard.
During the meeting Ashok Ji Kaul president TRT Camp Nagrota and its general secretary S L Bhat presented a memorandum to Relief Commissioner.
Highlighting the problems of camp inmates Chand Ji Khar Chairman of the TRT Camp demanded that the Government should delegate powers to Relief Commissioner so that on spot decisions regarding the solution of problems can be taken by him.
The camp inmates demanded raising of boundary wall for the security and safety purpose, large families be provided separate accommodations for their married children, supply of regular drinking water, proper drainage and health care system should be maintained in the camp, RBA certificates be issued to the migrants of RBA areas from the Valley, implementation of PM’s employment package, renovation of migrant quarters at TRT Nagrota .
Ashok Ji Koul, Vijay Kumar Sopori, S L Bhat, Madhusudan Bhat , A K Dhar, R N Bhat and others were present in the meeting.
