Infrastructural upgradation imperative for enhancing academic environs: Rana

BAJALTA NAGROTA, Apr 9: MLA Nagrota and National Conference Provincial President Devender Singh Rana today called for upgrading infrastructural facilities for student community, saying conducive atmosphere is imperative for achieving academic excellence.
Inaugurating Examination Hall Block of Government High School at Chak Largen Zone Gandhi Nagar in Bajalata Panchayat, constructed under Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyaan (RMSA), Rana said this will go a long way in meeting the requirements of students.
The MLA exhorted the officers present on the occasion to redouble their efforts in achieving the objectives of RMSA to enhance access of the students of areas like Nagrota Assembly constituency to secondary education and to improve its quality. He said the Government educational institutions must particularly focus on enhancing the academic standard keeping in view the tough competition unfolded by the schools in private sector.   He said educational facilities in close peripheries of students don’t only save time but also give impetus to enrollment and serves as an incentive for carrying forward academic odyssey.. With this objective, he hoped the education Department to achieve enrolment at secondary stage as envisaged under the RMSA. He also exhorted the parents to check against the tendency of dropping education of their wards in order to ensure their empowerment.
He expressed satisfaction over the enrolment rate in Nagrota Assembly constituency, saying a new awakening is discernible among parents about education of their children. He said he has been endeavouring to rope in premier academic organizations of the country to enhance the standard of education.
In this context, he referred to Quality Support Model being implemented by nationally acclaimed philanthropic organization,  Bharti Foundation in 15 schools of the constituency, saying a major headway has been achieved in transforming educational scenario. He said the model is going well and he is encouraged to have it extended in second phase by bringing more schools under its ambit.
Rana hoped that the State Education Department will make concerted efforts in improving the quality of education and analyzing results so as to plug the loopholes in order to enable students to have best in their schools.
Present on the occasion included Executive Engineer RMSA, Paramjit Singh, Zonal Education Officer Gandhi Nagar, Zarina Sheikh, Principal Pawan Verma.
