KISHTWAR, May 9: Expressing dismay over the pace of development works in the rural and far off areas of the district, Member Legislative Council Firdous Tak today said that there was urgent need to pull up administration so as to ensure the benefit of Government policies and programmes reaches to the general masses.
“The PDP led Government was taking historic measures for the welfare of people but the benefit was not reaching to the deserving people due to administrative inertia in remote and far off areas of State”, Tak said. He was interacting with the people during series of public meetings held in Dool area of Kishtwar on Monday.
He said that National Conference which remained in power for more than 30 years in the Chenab valley has demolished every institution and the party was directly responsible for the miseries people were suffering. “Today when the Coalition Government is making all efforts to uplift the living standards of downtrodden people and has launched several historical measures there were some people within the system who were hampering the entire process”, he observed.
The legislator was accompanied by Distt President Trade Union Sajad Ahmed Dev, Zonal President Arshid Giri and others. He said that in less than two years the present Government has sanctioned all the major roads in Kishtwar district including Dachan-Marwah, Nowpachi-Hanzal, Padder road and Renai-Pathgam.
“The National Conference despite being in power for several decades is responsible for the backwardness of this district, which lacks even the basic amenities”, he said. Tak said that the Government was keen to uplift basic infrastructure in the rural areas where even the people were suffering due to absence of even the basic amenities.
