Industrialists demand early issuance of guidelines on incentive package

JAMMU, Nov 18:  A joint meeting of the Industrial Associations of Bari Brahmana, Samba, Kathua, Birpur and Udhampur was held here today under the chairmanship of Lalit Mahajan, president BBIA.
The meet  discussed the fiscal incentives sanctioned by State Government  by providing relief to the Industrial Units of J&K with the refund of 100 percent SGST on Cash Ledger basis, 42 percent Balance CGST under the Central Govt  Package and budgetary support in the next State budget in lieu of CST on the Interstate Sale.
The members present in the meeting showed their serious concern in respect of non-issuance of guidelines of the notifications issued on 25-10-2017 by the State Government for the extension of State Package of Incentives under GST regime due to which uncertainty is prevailing in the mind of Industrial Units of J&K who are totally dependent on the sale of their products within the State.
It was demanded that while formulating the guidelines of the notification, Govt should consider the request on depositing reimbursement of incentives in the account of the Unit holders by 7th of every month by Direct Bank Transfer.
The meet also demanded issuance of requisite notification in respect of jurisdiction of the Commercial Tax Department for the refund of amount to the Industrial Units of J&K in respect of refund of amount under the Central Govt. notifications in respect of IGST & CGST.
The meet appealed the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, Industries Minister Chander Parkash and Finance Minister Dr Haseeb A Drabu to issue necessary guidelines in respect of State package of incentives.
The meeting was attended by  Vijay Aggarwal (president, Association of Industries, Samba) ,  Ajit Bawa (president Kathua Industrial Units Association),  Deepak Dhawan, (president Birpur Small Scale Industries Association),  Ravi Malgooria  (president Associated Chamber of Commerce & Industries  Udhampur,  Suresh Mahajan,  Ajay Langer,  Vivek Singhal,   Viraaj Malhotra,   Sandeep Mittal and others.
