JAMMU, Sept 12: A delegation of industrialists led by YV Sharma, president of Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industries-Cross LoC Trade, today met with George Sibley, Minister Counselor, Economic, Environment, Science & Technology Affairs, USA and Nisha Rajan, Economic Advisor in the Embassy of USA.
The delegation deliberately presented exchange of views for strengthening the LoC trade, ease of travelling on both sides of India and Pakistan, inclusion of local products manufactured by industrial units in the State and enlarge the list of manufactured products and tradable articles.
They also urged for develop a Confidence Building Measures (CBM) by giving boost for promotion of trade sector in a big way. While referring to opening of additional trade points in J&K State, the delegation suggested for opening of Suchetgarh Indo-Pak Border for business and trade as well as for retreat ceremonies and cultural festivals like Wagah Border Post in Amritsar.
YV Sharma also highlighted to open new routes at LoC and Border site for better interaction between India and PoK (Pakistan occupied Kashmir) in order to expanding the trade goods and other commodities and industrial products.
Both, George Sibley and Nisha Rajan gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured them all possible help and assistance in different forums and deliberations at both national and international level in order to provide better trade work environment between India and Pakistan.
Rajesh Jain (Chairman, Federation of Industries, Jammu), Lalit Mahahan (Co-Chairman, FOIJ), SB Abrol (General Secretary, Association of Industries, Gangyal, Jammu) and Annil Suri, Ravi Mahajan and Mahinder Singh were also part of the delegation.
