A project of an Industrial Estate in Qazigund area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district was sanctioned in the year 2004 and space too was chosen and demarcated for setting up of 133 industrial units but even after a decade and a half , it has remained in inertial mode. This Estate was primarily with a view to help as many entrepreneurs get themselves engaged in self employment ventures to tackle the problem of unemployment to whatever little extent.
Since not only inordinate delay in making plots of units allotted to the entrepreneurs took place but somehow after 14 long years , they were asked to construct walls around the plots. As the prospective unit holders were making all arrangements for it, the order was withdrawn. Element of inconsistency rules supreme many a time within the administrative apparatus which tells upon not only the performance but the public feel waylaid. Imagine a young aspirant entrepreneur of average 25 years of age in 2004 is by now around 40 years and heading towards feeling totally disillusioned with a system of this type. We urge the authorities to look into the problem and ensure the Estate opens at the earliest and starts functioning as well.
