Induction session organized at BGSBU Nursing College

JAMMU, Oct 23: An induction programme was organized by Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University’s Nursing College Jammu at its Kot Bhalwal Campus to welcome the fresh batch of nursing students.
The event saw the participation of all the new students, Principal and teachers. Prof. Javed Musarrat, Vice Chancellor BGSBU visited the campus all the way from Rajouri to interact with the students on the occasion.
While interacting with the students, Prof Musarrat made the students aware about the background and history of BGSBU.  He said that it is the legacy of BGSBU to impart quality education in all the courses it runs and the focus of the University is to provide best nursing education to all its nursing students too.  He told the students that BGSBU Nursing College Jammu is the first college among all the department of the university to have biometric attendance system for both faculty and students.
The Vice Chancellor during his interaction with the students also delivered a one hour lecture on Fundamentals of Microbiology encompassing major landmarks in the history of Microbiology; bacterial structure and functions.
The Vice Chancellor assured that the laboratory facilities and sports infrastructure will be further strengthened and augmented. He said he shall be visiting the campus in short intervals and review the working of the college.  He asked the students to feel free to contact him anytime and can send the grievances if any to his email address.
On the sideline of the event, Prof Musarrat also had a meeting with all the faculty members where he asked the teacher to put in their best in the subjects they teach and engage the students in tutorials and other academic, cultural and sports activities apart from their regular class room activities. He asked the faculty members to be the guardians of the students.
The Vice Chancellor also visited the different labs, class rooms, canteen and hostels in the campus and gave necessary directions to the college administration for taking up cleanliness drives on the campus and stimulate faculty and student participation in Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan.
