UDHAMPUR, July 26: A seminar on “National Security and Role of Indian Armed Forces viz.a.viz citizens of India” was organised by the Forum for Awareness of National Security (FANS) at Shivalik College of Education, Udhampur in collaboration with “Poorav Sainik Parishad” for paying tribute to the martyrs of Kargil as well as different wars on the occasion of VIJAY DIVAS.
Seminar was organized by the Forum for Awareness of National Security J&K Chapter. It commenced after lighting of the lamp followed by ~Vande Mataram and Bharat Mata poojan. Col.(retd) K.S. Juneja made the welcome address in which he highlighted the establishment of war memorial in the State as well as in the districts and had apprised that District Udhampur is the first district to establish a War Memorial at Udhampur in order to pay rich tribute to the Martyrs. The welcome address was followed by the address of various speakers including Ms Heena Bhat, Golak Bihari Rai (National Organising Secy. FANS), Farooq Khan (President FANS J&K Chapter), Air Marshal Dr. R.C.Bajpai (retd.) (National President FANS, Indresh Kumar Margdarshak FANS followed by vote of thanks by Dr. Munish Gulati, Chairman Shivalik College of Education Udhampur.
The speakers on the occasion, apprised the gathering about the objectives of the National Security Forum for making the people aware about the national security related issues.
Indresh Kumar informed about various threats faced by India in terms of its internal security and also highlighted the threat posed by the neighbouring countries besides highlighting the need of national unity and brotherhood amongst the fellow citizens. He further stressed the requirement of character building amongst the youth in particular and masses in general.
He emphasised the need of respecting humanity beyond any religious affiliation. Besides, stressing the respect for all religions while propagating/ practicing ones own. He apprised the gathering about the future programmes of various organisations including FANS, Purav Sainik Parishad.
Indresh Kumar warned Pakistan for waging proxy war against India and stressed that there is an imminent need to understand the sinister plans of Pakistan and we must stand upright as a nation and not to fall a prey to those vested designs. He said that whole of India stands behind people of Jammu & Kashmir and the people must understand and adopt the method of their sustainable development.
The speakers, while addressing the gathering paid rich tributes to the freedom fighters who had laid down their lives for the freedom of our motherland and said that security of a nation is must for its development and security does not mean the security of the borders alone as it includes the internal security as well.

BJP, Nand Khajuria, Major (retd) Umakant Yash Pal Sharma, Suresh Sharma, U.K.Jalali, Sunil Sethi, Pranav Kohli, Gourav Jamwal, Anil Khajuria, Vikas Pankaj, Vinod, Abhey Pargal, Dinesh Gupta. The impressive function concluded with recital of national anthem.
