JAMMU, July 26: Senior RSS leader and member of its National Executive, Dr Indresh Kumar today reiterated that the people of Jammu and Kashmir want that Pakistan-occupied Jammu Kashmir (PoJK) and Gilgit -Baltistan should be freed from the illegal occupation of the neighbouring country.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a function organised by Muslim Rashtriya Manch here today, Dr Indresh Kumar said PoJK and Gilgit- Baltistan are the integral parts of India which are under the forcible occupation of Pakistan and people of the J&K are committed to get their land freed from the clutches of neighbouring country.
Indresh Kumar said, “The demand of liberating PoJK and Gilgit -Baltistan is being raised from time to time. The people of PoJK are unhappy with Pakistan as their freedom has been usurped and they have no rights, so they keep looking towards India. Today, we have given a message from here to the people that we stand by them in their difficult times’’, he added.

He also called on political parties to avoid playing politics to pit communities against each other in Manipur, emphasising on the need to restore peace and communal harmony in the violence-hit State.
“I want to urge all political parties not to play politics aimed at inciting, dividing and pitting two communities against each other in Manipur. They should focus on promoting peace, harmony and prosperity in the region,” Kumar said during a programme of the Gujjar community here.
Responding to the demand of the opposition that Prime Minister, Narendra Modi should make a statement on the Manipur violence in Parliament, Kumar said political parties should offer their suggestions to ensure peace in the State.
“If the political parties have any suggestion, they should come forward with it to ensure peace in the region,” he said.
“I feel it is shameful that if two communities fight each other. It should not happen. Two communities should live peacefully with each other and make Manipur the best place to live,” the RSS leader said.
On reservation for ‘Paharis’ under the Scheduled Tribe category in Jammu and Kashmir, Kumar said the Central Government is committed to ensure justice for all sections of the society.
Earlier addressing the function, the senior RSS said that the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) will protect, respect and accept all and those who have fears over it should not worry at all.
“A Uniform Civil Code will accept, respect and protect all. Those who have fears over it should not worry at all. Instead, they should try to understand everybody. There are so many religions in the country and all will get respect out of it,” said Kumar.
Those resorting to creating fear psychosis among public over UCC should not make people fight among themselves, he said.
“Development of a country is based on brotherhood. If anyone has a problem with the word uniform’, then words like national’ and common’ can be utilised,” he said.
However, he didn’t say when such a law would come into existence. “An exercise for the same has started and there is no time frame for that. People from different religions and intellectuals have come together to understand the issue,” he said.
Haji Mohammad Afzal national convenor of MRM at the symposium said, “The issue of bringing a Uniform Civil Code has been going ever since India got independence in 1947. The matter has not come up all of a sudden. Many people try to instil fear over the issue. Therefore, one needs to remain alert on the matter.”
Another speaker Abu Bakar Naqwi said suggestions from all communities should be invited first. “A committee should be formed to address the issues of every community in the country. “A draft should then be prepared which should be thoroughly debated,” he averred.
