JAMMU, Oct 15:  Panun Kashmir (PK) in its meeting here today said with the United Nation’s (UN) decision of not intervening in the Kashmir issue Pakistan has been isolated and India’s stand has been vindicated.
” The recent move of the United Nations in refusing to accede to the request of Pakistan to intervene in the Kashmir issue has vindicated the Indian stand”, Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, President of Panun Kashmir said in a statement issued to press later.
“United Nations has consistently refused to mediate in the Kashmir issue in the past also”, Chrungoo said.
He said several former general secretaries of the United Nations have been advising Pakistan to settle issues with India bilaterally.
“Pakistan refuses to see the writing on the wall and if any window of opportunity for bilateral talks is available that is also closing fast,” he said.
“Panun Kashmir also welcomes the position taken by the Indian representative in the United Nations that Pakistan need to stop the export of terror from the territories under its control into India,” Chrungoo said.
He said the principled stand taken by the Indian representatives that terror and talks can’t go together is a clear message to the Pakistan establishment which has been pursuing terrorism as an instrument of the State policy.
Virender Raina National spokesperson, PK , said that the incessant mortar shelling and gunfire from Pakistan has been dealt very effectively by Indian security forces. The people of the border displaced due to unprovoked firing by Pakistan need to be given all the succor and support by the Government and civil society at large.
He said by resorting to border shelling Pakistan was trying to diver the attention of world from its explosive internal situation.
PK leaders Upinder Kaul, Kamal Bhagati and Vijay Qazi also attended the meeting.
