JAMMU/Samba, Mar 25: Former Minister and member AICC Abdul Gani Vakil today said that UPA Government always walked a mile extra for establishing permanent peace in Kashmir valley and initiated CBMs to infuse confidence amongst the masses in J&K.
He said that constitution of Working Groups and Rangarajan Committee depicts the serious attitude of the UPA to put J&K on track of peace and development.
While highlighting the achievements and initiatives of UPA Government, Mr. Vakil said, Congress led Governments have always prioritized the interests of masses and believed only in finding an honorable solution to Kashmir problem. He said that opening of Srinagar-Muzaffarabad, Poonch – Rawalakote roads and appointment of interlocutors for taking forward peace process in Jammu and Kashmir speaks in volumes about genuineness, sincerity and concern of Congress-led UPA Government towards addressing aspirations of people of all the three regions including Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.
He said in contrast to Congress policies BJP concentrates on communal and exploitive agenda to grab power. It can not be sincere in resolving Kashmir issue. Mr. Vakil was addressing Seva Dal Workers Convention today at Samba and Jammu. Convention was presided over by J&K Seva Dal president Balwinder Singh Sambyal.
Mr Vakil said that dialogue, unambiguously, is the only way and platform to move ahead to resolve all vexed issues. He said Hurriyat’s cold response to UPA led Central Government’s offers and invitation for talks has delayed the fruitful results in this behalf. He said that those leaders who are blaming UPA Government for being an impediment in resolving Kashmir issue must go for introspection.
Cautioning the whole country about the BJPs win, PCC leader said that if Narendra Modi, becomes the Prime Minister, it will be a tsunami like situation for India and this happening will never prove fruitful for the country. India’s existence is dependent on its secular ideology and history is witness to the birth of India which is due to religious tolerance and secular credentials.
