NEW DELHI, May 13:
The cumulative number of Covid-19 vaccine doses administered in the country has exceeded 17.72 crore, the Union Health Ministry said on Thursday. According to the provisional report this morning, a total of 17,72,14,256 vaccine doses have been administered through 25,70,537 sessions. These include 96,00,420 Health Care Workers (HCWs) who have taken the first dose and 65,70,062 who have taken the second dose.
As many as 1,42,34,793 Front Line Workers (FLWs) received their first dose, 80,30,007–second.
In the age group of 18-45 years, a total of 34,80,618 beneficiaries were given their first dose, while 5,62,43,308 and 81,58,535 beneficiaries aged 45 to 60 years got their first and second doses respectively. A total of 5,40,99,241 beneficiaries got their first dose and 1,67,97,272 received their second dose in the 60 plus group.
On Wednesday, 18,94,991 vaccine doses were administered. Across 17,684 sessions, 9,98,409 beneficiaries were vaccinated for first dose, while 8,96,582 received their second dose.
India’s cumulative recoveries stand at 1,97,34,823 today. While 3,52,181 recoveries registered in the last 24 hours, the National Recovery Rate stands at 83.26 per cent. (UNI)
