JAMMU, Apr 11: “China has unsuccessfully attempted to raise the issue of Jammu and Kashmir in the UN and India has made an apt response on the spot to the China’s move to deviate attention of the world from its “COVID19 crimes against humanity”, said Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, senior BJP and Kashmiri Pandit leader.
In a statement issued here, today Chrungoo said that India strongly rejected remarks on Jammu and Kashmir by the spokesperson of China’s permanent mission to the United Nations, asserting that “the Union Territory has been, is and shall continue to be its integral part”. India’s response that it expected China to refrain from commenting on the country’s internal affairs and respect its sovereignty and territorial integrity is the resolve of the nation that has been conveyed very well by the representative of India.
India’s argument that it expected China to recognise and condemn the scourge of cross-border terrorism that affects the lives of the people of India, including in Jammu and Kashmir is also timely and bold reminding China about its responsibilities in the field of human rights.
When the whole world is experiencing the COVID19 crisis at a global level and demands answers from China regarding its responsibilities in context of WuhanVirus spread, China has made an attempt to raise questions that have lost relevance since.
“China is well aware of India’s consistent position on this issue. The Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir has been, is and shall continue to be an integral part of India. Issues related to Jammu and Kashmir are internal matter to India,” the representative of India had said.
“It is, therefore, our expectation that other countries, including China, would refrain from commenting on matters that are internal affairs of India and respect India’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” he said.
Chrungoo maintained that China misused its position to block a discussion on Covid-19 in the UNSC and thus exposed its intent in this regard. China is blamed for hiding the creation and spread of the Virus-pandemic in its regions that had potential to spread as a pandemic and has consumed thousands of lives in the world.
What could have been contained in its country has been allowed to reach the nook and corner of the world engulfing almost two million people till date, China, today, tomorrow or one day has to be answerable to the humanity at large in this connection.
