JAMMU, May 20: The 2nd Indian Orthopaedic Rheumatology Spine Conclave (IORA) was organized by the Department of Orthopaedics (ASCOMS & Hospital, Sidhra) in association with Postgraduate Department of Orthopaedics of Government Medical College Jammu and J&K Orthopaedics Association (JKOA).
A conclave was inaugurated by the chief guest Dr Ashutosh Gupta (Principal/Dean, GMC Jammu). Dr Rajesh Gupta (organizing chairperson of the conclave and president IORA) in his welcome address laid stress upon importance of Rheumatology and its association with Spine Disorders.
The guest of honour, Dr Pavan Malhotra (Director Principal, ASCOMS & Hospital) while speaking on the occasion, assured the organizers all the support from ASCOMS & Hospital in the future academic ventures as well.
In this one-day scientific event, approximately 127 participants were registered. The notable national faculty from the field were Dr Ram Chadha (president, Indian Orthopaedic Association), Dr SS Jha (patron IORA), Manish Khanna (founder and advisor, IORA), Dr Amitabh Mukherjee (president elected, IORA), Dr Chinmoy Das, (secretary general, IORA), Dr King Sukh Mandal, Dr PS Sarkar, Dr Rakesh Rajput from Kolkata, Dr Sanjay Dhar, Dr Agnivesh Tickoo from Mumbai, Dr Sahil Majeed from Srinagar and Dr MA Basit from Himachal Pradesh.
The local faculty who took part in this scientific deliberation were Dr Sanjeev Gupta (Prof & Head, Orthopaedics, GMC Jammu), Dr Abdul Gani, Dr Mohd Farooq Bhat, Dr Bias Dev, Dr Fareed Hussain and Dr Tarseem Motan.
The event concluded with vote of thanks presented by Dr Fareed Hussain (organizing secretary).
