Indian Oil Board guides strategic roadmap for Paradip Refinery

NEW DELHI, Mar 26 : Buoyed by the expertise garnered over more than five decades of IndianOil’s expertise in project management and refining, all out efforts are now directed at ensuring timely completion and commissioning of the state-of-the-art Refinery complex rising splendidly into the sky at Paradip.
As the colossal project execution gathers frenetic momentum, the IndianOil Board, led by R S  Butola, Chairman along with Dr  R K Malhotra, Director (R&D), A M K  Sinha, Director (P&BD), P K Goyal, Director (F), Rajkumar Ghosh, Director (Refineries), M Nene Director (Marketing), V S Okhde, Director (Pipelines), Dr S C  Khuntia, Addl Secy & Financial Advisor, MoP&NG, Dr Sudhakar Rao, Prof (Dr) V K Bhalla, Mrs Shymala Gopinath and Shyam Saran visited Paradip Refinery project site to review the Strategic roadmap.
M Vijaywargiya, ED (l/c) (Projects), PDRP appraised the Board about the actual status of the project implementation, project highlights and critical issues. The 15 MMTPA Paradip Refinery will be a benchmark in terms of technology, efficiency, productivity and profitability.
The highly complex and most advanced refinery is conceived to process 100% heavy, high -sulphur cheaper crude for better profitability. This energy efficient refinery will meet the spiraling domestic demand for LPG, petrol, diesel, ATF and other petroleum products in eastern India and beyond. It will also produce petrochemical feedstock such as propylene. Paradip will have best-in-class distillate yield with products meeting stringent quality and environmental norms.
