WASHINGTON, Aug 29: Observing that Mitt Romney shares the vision of Indian American community for the US, a political action committee of the community has endorsed Republican’s nomination for this year’s presidential polls.
“Without question, Governor Romney shares the Republican Indian Committee’s vision for America for all of our citizens. The Indian-American community supports the highest ideals of advanced education, entrepreneurial risk taking, strong work ethics, and family values,” said Dilip Palith, national president of Republican Indian Committee (RIC).
Soon after Romney officially bagged party’s presidential nomination at convention in Tampa, RIC endorsed Romney noting that he represents the “highest” of American ideals and “thoroughly understands” that private sector.
“Today, Indian Americans represent small business owners, corporate executives, tech CEOs, bankers, and venture capitalists as well as physicians, lawyers, scientists, engineers, and professors,” RIC said.
“We know that our community must help preserve and restore the American Dream for the next generation. We do not want to leave our children burdened with trillions of dollars of debt,” RIC added.
Meanwhile, RIC national chairman Sam Malhotra said Romney’s selection of Congressman Paul Ryan as his running mate is a signal that he is serious about addressing the long-term US debt and deficit issues.
“Congressman Ryan has put forth and will continue to advance ideas so that we can have a meaningful conversation about what we as a nation can afford, given present economic realities,” Malhotra said.
Observing that the committee believes in the fiscal conservatism that Romney represents, RIS said it support his past record of good government in the state of Massachusetts, where he “rescued” his constituents from uncontrolled spending and budget deficits. (PTI)
