Indian Air Force Air Show over Dal Lake on Sept 26

Srinagar, Sept 15: To attract youth towards the Indian Air Force and also to boost tourism in Kashmir, the Indian Air Force (IAF) is set to organize an air show over Dal Lake in Srinagar on September 26.
Officials said that on the day a spectacular air show will be organized along the Dal Lake.
As per officials, the event will see fighter jets, helicopters and parachutes hovering over the scenic sky of Dal Lake to enthral the audiences under the ‘Azadi Ka Mahotsav’ with a theme of ‘Give Wings to Your Dream’.
The event is going to be organized by the J&K Government in collaboration with the India Air Force aiming at attracting youth towards the Indian Air Force.
As per details of the show, the students, as well as teachers at SKICC, are going to witness the live Air Show to be held by the Indian Air Force.
Further, around 3000 college and school students are set to participate in the programme to witness the impressive manoeuvres of IAF which will motivate them to dream about a career in IAF and the aviation sector. During the event around 700 teachers are also going to show their presence.
During the event, the students will also be familiarized with the new technological advancements achieved and incorporated by the IAF while flying aircraft in the sky over the world-famous Dal Lake.
In this connection, the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir has directed the heads of educational institutions to ensure the participation of National Cadet Corps students, while stressing adherence to the CAB guidelines.
On the occasion, the students will visit the stalls established at SKICC where they will be familiarized with the achievements of the Air Force, employment opportunities in IAF, recruitment rules, eligibility criteria along with other things.
In 2003, a similar Air Show was conducted by the IAF over Dal lake and it was witnessed by thousands of people including large numbers of students.
