SRINAGAR, Sept 24: Independent Legislator from Langate Er Abdul Rashid today said that India uses Kashmiri politicians as tissue papers.
Rashid said politicians feel “let down and demoralized” after the media exposed that Agriculture Minister Ghulam Hassan Mir has been paid money by former Army General VK Singh to “topple” Omar Abdullah-led Government in the State.
“It is a shameful act that how army indulges in deciding the political equations in JK and creates its puppets everywhere by giving them money and then finally disgracing these politicians and using them like tissue papers. India buys us (politicians) and then throws us away after using us,” he said, adding “Army has spoiled Kashmiris and taken every politician for granted here,” Rashid told reporters here.
NC, PDP and other political parties must clear their stand over the issue as the credibility of the political parties and political process is at stake and stands badly eroded after the incident, he said.
He said it was high time for Indian Army to introspect that why was it trying to get indulged into the political affairs and thus not only brings a bad name to itself but also the act is a black spot on Indian democracy.
