JAMMU, June 28: India’s prestigious magazine ‘India Today’ has ranked LPU among top 10 engineering institutes of the country.
This coveted ranking is in parallel to those of 4 IITs, NIIT and other institutes. The magazine has mentioned about this top ranking in its ‘Aspire’ edition of June 2016, with cover page titled as ‘In Tune with Technology’- Top Ten Engineering Institutes in India. This ranking is attributed to LPU for its being new age engineering institute with experimental and encouraging curriculum which makes students venture out of classrooms.
Staff Correspondent of `India Today’ Karishma Goenka has mentioned: “In the attempt to reinvent traditional teaching attitudes, LPU is giving students the opportunity to tailor their course schedules and the freedom to choose how they would like to spend the most valuable period of their lives. It is always imbuing students with a fresh perspective on the world they are about to enter, thus ensuring students about their ideas to top their agenda for the future. In fact, LPU has emerged as a familiar name in education circle. It has a wide range of active clubs & societies that span interests in mechanics, coding, bio-mimicry, social innovation and electronics. LPU Chancellor, Ashok Mittal exclaimed: “On seeing LPU ranked among top universities of the country, I feel myself proud of my team at the university.” Sharing the criterion mentioned in the magazine, Mr Mittal further informs: “India produces near 1.5 million engineers each year which is more than the US and China combined. As IITs do, LPU is also doing close to them with dedication to research with flexibility and dynamicity in curriculum. In fact, LPU has always focused its curriculum energetically towards entrepreneurship and innovation. This is the main reason to be proud of as LPU has earned this prestigious ranking for this unique feature.”
