India to take on Proteas tomorrow

LONDON:   India and South Africa, who lost their previous  matches, will play their last group B match against each other tomorrow and will aim to seal their semi-final berth in the ongoing Champions Trophy.

India and South Africa, who were considered as favourites in group B  for the semi-final berth, now only one team reaches the semi-final spot.

Number one ranked South Africa faced a shocking defeat against the  8th ranked Pakistan team while the next day 7th ranked Sri Lanka decimated no 2 ranked Indian team.

With top two ODI teams losing in group B matches the equation now will  be very interesting. All four teams have two two points each and the semi-finals results now lie on the match between India and South Africa, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

India in their opening match thrashed Pakistan by 124 runs while South  Africa outclassed Sri Lanka in a one sided match.

Both India and South Africa were crushed in their next match. Though India set a huge target of 321 before the Lankans, but due to below par fielding and lacklustre bowling by the Indians cost them the match.(AGENCIES)
