SUVA : Prime Minister Narendra Modi today asserted that the 21st century belongs to Asia and India will play the role of ‘Vishwa Guru’ and lead the world through its power of knowledge.
Addressing the large gathering of scholars at Fiji National University, Mr Modi said today the entire world was looking at India and people were curious to see what role it would play in times to come.
The Prime Minister said, “Everybody says that 21st century belongs to Asia. We may not be very sure whether it belongs to China or India but one thing is clear that this century will be driven by the engine of knowledge and that is a domain where the Indians have undoubtedly excelled in 5,000 years of history of mankind.”
Mr Modi was on a day-long visit to Fiji on the last leg of his hectic 10-day foreign tour to three nations. (AGENCIES)
