India, Kazakhstan sign agreements on defence, uranium supply

MOSCOW:India and Kazakhstan today further cemented their economic, defence and energy ties, signing five agreements, including a second agreement for supply of uranium.
The two countries also decided to transfer sentenced persons.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his statement after the talks with Kazakh president Sultan Nazarbayev in Astana, vowed to take the economic and strategic ties to a new level.
Mr Modi said  the two countries have a remarkable convergence on a number of issues and said they will continue to work in tandem at various forums.        Pointing out that Kazakhstan was India’s biggest economic partner in the region, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of enhancing connectivity to further boost the trade.
