India is destination of spiritual leaders: LG

LEH, Nov 17: Lieutenant Governor Ladakh, Radha Krishna Mathur attended Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC) Devachan Family annual day celebration here on Sunday.
Ladakh University Vice Chancellor, C. Phuntsog; GoC Leh Sub Area, Maj Gen Y.K Mor; Upper Leh Councillor, Lobzang Nyantak; Tingmosgang Councillor, Tsering Morup; DLSA Secretary Judge, Palzes Angmo; former CEC, Rigzin Spalbar and many others were also present.
The celebrations began with the lighting of holy lamp followed by prayer by MIMC nuns.
Hailing MIMC for carrying out humanitarian activities the LG said, India is the destination of spiritual leaders.
Assuring his support in MIMC activities LG Mathur expressed his hope that MIMC will prosper more in future.
Earlier, welcoming the LG MIMC Founder-President, Bhikkhu Sanghasena said, he hopes to make Ladakh top spiritual destination in the world for solace seekers.
Culture programme by MIMC residential school students followed by screening of Introductory Documentary showcasing various humanitarian activities of MIMC was part of the event.
Earlier in the morning MIMC also elected its new executive body members which included former ministers, bureaucrats, officers and politicians.
