NEW DELHI, Dec 13:
Reacting sharply to the reference made to Jammu and Kashmir by the Organisation of the Islamic Conference in its recently-held session in Guinea, India today said OIC has once again made “factually incorrect and misleading” references in matters concerning internal affairs of the country.
“We note with regret that OIC has once again made factually incorrect and misleading references to matters internal to India including Indian State of Jammu and Kashmir which is an integral part of India.
“We reject all such references and resolutions. OIC has no locus standi in matters concerning internal affairs of India or on the recent incidents on the LoC,” the Spokesperson in the Ministry of External Affairs said here.
The Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) of the Member States of the OIC in their 40th session in Conakry, Guinea, adopted a resolution strongly supporting “the efforts of the Government of Pakistan for a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute and urges India to remain engaged into a meaningful and sustained dialogue process with Pakistan to resolve all outstanding issues including the core issue of Jammu and Kashmir.”
The resolution also expressed “concern at the frequency of cease-fire violations by the Indian occupation forces from across the Line of Control since the beginning of 2013 while appreciating that Pakistan is following the policy of restraint, responsibility and dialogue in the larger interest of peace in the region”.
