All India Devotional Song Competition enters Day-4

JAMMU, Oct 14: All India Devotional Song Competition, being organized as a part of Navratra Festival entered fourth day at Yog Ashram Complex, Katra.
The day commenced with the lighting of lamp by Director Horticulture Anuradha Gupta and celebrity singer Manu Vandana in presence of CEO Katra Development Authority SP Mehra, Assistant Director Tourism Rupali Mahajan, Umesh Shan, Chairman Devotional Song Committee and President Hotel Association Katra Rakesh Wazir, SDM Katra Ashok Choudhary, Yog Acharya Swami Yoga Nand Ji Maharaj, Usha Bagati, CL Verma, Surinder Kumar Sharma and others.
In the preliminary round, Pranabha Sharma from Jammu took 1st position, while second position was shared by Kripal and Rashpal from Punjab. The third position was clinched by Aditya Kumar from Jammu. The winners were given cash prizes of Rs 10,000, Rs 5,000 and Rs 3,000 respectively.
The grand finale of the Competition will be held on October 17 and the winner will be awarded with gold amounting to Rs 3 lakh and a recording contract with Venus Records and Tapes Limited. The two runner ups will get gold worth Rs 1 lakh and Rs 50,000 cash respectively.
The competition was adjudged by the panels of experts in music including celebrity singer Manu Vandana, Dr Usha Bhagati ex HoD, PG MAM College Jammu and Dr Surinder Sharma, Head of the Department, GDC Sanjoli Himachal Pradesh.
On the occasion, Vandana enthralled the audience with his melodious songs. Sanjeet Kumar, former winner of All India Devotional Song Competition also sang Soufiyana Song Jugni-Dum Gutkoon.
The proceeding of competition was conducted by Rakesh Wazir, Chairman of the competition.
