India condemns terror attack in Sistan-Baluchistan province in Iran

NEW DELHI: India on Thursday strongly condemned the dastardly terrorist attack in the Khash-Zahedan sector of Sistan-Baluchistan province in Iran on Wednesday that claimed many lives.

“Terrorism, in all its forms and manifestations, is condemnable and perpetrators of such crimes should be brought to justice expeditiously and without distinction,” an MEA statement said here.

“We extend our condolences to the families of the victims, the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran. We wish speedy recovery to those injured,” the statement said.

A suicide bomber, according to media reports, targeted a bus carrying personnel affiliated to Iran’s Revolutionary Guards on Wednesday, killing 27 people and injuring 20.
A Sunni extremist group linked to al-Qaida has reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack, which occurred in the south-east of Iran.
The bombing happened on the day that a conference convened by the US in Warsaw, the reports said. (AGENCIES)
