India asks Pakistan to hand over Dawood

NEW DELHI: India has called upon Pakistan to hand over global terrorist Dawood Ibrahim, who is wanted in the 1993 serial blasts in Mumbai, and is understood to be living in Pakistan. Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Vikas Swarup, replying to a question of TV reports purportedly showing first video evidence of Dawood’s presence in Pakistan told reporters, “As everyone is aware Dawood Ibrahim is a UN-designated global terrorist and a fugitive from Indian law.
”At several point of time, his details have been shared by the Indian Government with the Government of Pakistan, which also includes his possible locations in that country”.
Mr Swarup added that the claim by a news channel report only corroborates the facts that were already available with the government.
”We will continue to pursue this matter and we expect Pakistan to hand over this international terrorist to us,” he added.
Dawood Ibrahim, the mastermind of 1993 Mumbai serial blasts, has since then, said to have sought refuge in Pakistan after the deadly attacks that killed hundreds of people and shattered the business capital of the country.
According to the channel, the global terrorist is said to be residing in a high security area of Karachi in Pakistan. (AGENCIES)
