Independence Day, Raksha Bandhan celebrated with fervor, enthusiasm

JAMMU, Aug 14: 73rd Independence Day and Raksha Bandhan, the festival of bonding between brothers and sisters, were celebrated today with great enthusiasm and gaiety by various educational institutions, civil society members, political and social organizations as well as defence personnel.
BJP State Mahila Morcha led by its national vice president and Prabhari Mahila Morcha Rashim Sood and its State president Rajni Sethi tied ‘Raksha Sutra’ to “Jawans” at village Ghagwal’s “Chak Dulma” International Border and police station in Hiranagar constituency on the eve of Raksha Bandhan today wherein State spokesperson and Prabhari Mahila Morcha Priya Sethi and OBC Morcha president Rash Pal Verma were also present. State Mahila Morcha also hoisted National Flag in Ghagwal Mandal to celebrate Independence Day.
In connection with Independence Day, Rajan Gupta (senior vice president of Shiv Sena) along with other party leaders visited Government schools in Nai Basti and Lale da Bagh and distributed clothes, fruits and sweets among children of the schools. Speaking on the occasion, Rajan Gupta elaborated the importance and value of the Independence Day to the students of schools.

Dogra Degree College celebrated Independence Day with great pomp and show in its premises. Some students enlightened the audience on their vision of Independence. A scintillating group song performance was given by Taranveer, Janvi and Shallu on the melodious song “Teri Mitti”. Speaking on the occasion, Director Administration and Campus Development said that the freedom we enjoy today was earned by our valiant freedom fighters with their blood so it is our duty to safeguard this freedom.
Government Degree College (GDC) Samba organized a Slogan Writing Competition to mark Independence Day. About 20 students participated in the competition. They wrote various patriotic and motivational slogans on theme of Independence Day. The first, second and third prize was bagged by Janvi Slathia, Kapil Manyal and Neena Kalyal, respectively.
Sai Shyam College of Education and Sai Shyam Higher Secondary School, Ghou-Manhasan celebrated Independence Day with great zeal. The Tricolour was hoisted by Chairman, Sai Shyam Educational Society, CL Tickoo. Patriotic songs and skits were displayed by the students. Principal of the College, Dr Usha Tickoo and School Principal, JN Bhat also spoke on the occasion.
SPS PTS Kathua celebrated Raksha Bandhan with children of Indian Public School, Kidzee Kathua. Twenty-nine children from class 1st to 11th visited the Police Training School and tied rakhis to officers, trainees and other staff. Principal, SPS PTS Kathua, SSP Arun Gupta were present on the occasion.
Delhi Public School (DPS), Jammu celebrated Independence Day and Rakshabandhan with patriotic fervor and gaiety. The Tri-Colour balloons were released by the Principal, staff and students of DPS Jammu. A cultural programme was also organized on this occasion. Principal, DPS Jammu, Ruchi Chabra in her address asked the students to follow the path shown by our great leaders. The programme came to an end with the instrumental National Anthem.
DPS Nagbani today organized a special assembly to celebrate Independence Day. The programme started with a speech and it was followed by a patriotic song presented by the teachers. The programme concluded with a question and answer round based on the history of this day in which all the students participated enthusiastically. Principal R K Verma urged the students to make India a better place to live.
Students of DPS Udhampur celebrated the festival of Rakshabandhan by tying Rakhis on the wrists of Jawans of 187 Battalion, CRPF, in a beautiful ceremony held at Battalion headquarters in Battal Ballian. The students also celebrated the sacrifice of Jawans and honored their contribution to the nation through patriotic dance and music performances.
KC International School celebrated Independence Day and Rakshabandhan with great pride and enthusiasm in the school campus. The students showcased immense feeling of patriotism through cultural dance performances, group songs and play. The highlight of the celebration was little girls of Pre-Primary vlasses tying up rakhies on the wrist of their Principal Sir. The national flag was unfurled amid recitation of national anthem.
Carmel Convent Higher Secondary School, Kunjwani celebrated Independence Day on the theme “Let’s Salute the Nation”. The programme witnessed a musical rendition of patriotic songs by the students of class VIII. The students also showcased a colourful spectacle of India’s freedom through a delightful dance performance. The students also participated in the Rakhi Making competition wherein they made eye-catching rakhis.
The Independence Day was celebrated by the staff and students of Alexander Memorial Higher Secondary School, Eid-Gah Road, Jammu with usual solemnity and gaiety. The National flag was hoisted by Principal, Esther William and the school band played the National Anthem.
JK Montessorie Senior Secondary School, Talab Tillo celebrated 73rd Independence Day with patriotic fervor. Students sang patriotic songs. Managing Director Sanjeev Gupta and Academic Director Rajni Gupta encouraged the students to courageously look forward for the upliftment of Nation’s pride. Principal Geeta Dixit also spoke on the occasion.
Rich Harvest School, Bari Brahmana celebrated Independence Day and Raksha Bandhan with zest and zeal in its campus, which was aesthetically decorated with balloons and a huge tricolor. An emotional skit was followed by various patriotic songs. Class 11th girls visited soldiers to tie rakhis on their wrists.
The Independence Day and Raksha Bandhan were also celebrated by students of Doon International School. A vibrant cultural programme was organized by the students. The Tri-colour was hoisted by Principal, Dr Vikesh Kaur. The little girls of the school visited the Narwal orphanage and tied rakhis to the children living there.
Independence Day and Raksha Bandhan celebrations also held at MV International School where students and staff gathered together to blend the festivities by displaying a huge formation of 80 feet long ‘Rakhi amalgamated in the Tricolour’. Tiny Tots of the school formed flowers around the Ashoka Chakra as the dial. This unique display was formed by nearly 800 students of primary wing of the school.
Shiksha Niketan Senior Secondary School, Jeevan Nagar celebrated the Independence Day and Raksha Bandhan in its premises. Some girls tie Rakhi on Principal Sir’s wrist and pray for their long life. The students beautiful dance performances. They also expressed their views on Raksha Bandhan as well as Independence Day.
Stephens International Public School, Miran Sahib celebrated Independence Day and Raksha Bandhan with great fervor. A cultural programme was organized to pay tributes and homage to those who sacrifice their lives for winning freedom for our country. The programme concluded with an encouraging speech by Rama Jamwal, Dean Academics, SIPS.
Crescent Public School celebrated the Independence Day with enthusiasm. The students performed many programmes of patriotic spirit.
Dewan Devi Playway/ Higher Secondary School, Rajpura today saluted the Nation and its freedom fighters on the eve of 73rd Independence Day, in the premises of the school. The students of both the school also celebrated ‘Raksha Bandhan’. Students took part in variety of cultural activities. Rakhi Making competition was held in the school premises.
Junior wing of Nav Adarsh Higher Secondary School, Kathua had a special event to educate children about the significance of Raksha Bandhan festival. In this event children were familiarized with the customs and rituals followed on Raksha Bandhan.
Jammu Sanskriti School celebrated Independence Day and Raksha Bandhan. A colourful function was organized wherein through songs and dances feeling of patriotism was displayed.
The Shri Ram Universal School celebrated Independence Day of India with joy and enthusiasm. Speaking on the occasion, Principal of the School, Ritula Singh hailed the freedom fighters in making India a free nation. The students also visited Army Headquarter Samba to tie Rakhis to the soldiers.
Shri Mahavir Jain Higher Secondary School Jammu celebrated Independence Day with devotion and enthusiasm. National Flag was unfurled by the vice president of Jain Educational Trust, Devki Nandan Jain along with general secretary, Ramneek Jain. The students presented a captivating cultural bonanza focused on patriotism.
ASHA School Satwari Cantt organized a cultural programme for specially-abled children to celebrate Independence Day. The little children actively participated in the events showcasing their singing and dancing talents. There was also an enthusiastic participation from APS Damana.
Aroma Foundation Public School celebrated the festival of Raksha Bandhan by making a Rakhi Making Competition, wherein the students made beautifully rakhis. Drawing and Kite flying competitions were also organized on the occasion.
Independence Day was celebrated at May Fair Schools at Chand Nagar, Janipur and Chinore. Vijay Basur, Chairperson – May Fair Schools unfurled the National Flag.
Bhartiya Vidya Mandir High School Udhampur organized a Rakhi making competition which also included kite, card making etc. The students also tied the Rakhis to ITBP and CPRF personnel and distributed sweets among them.
The Calliope School, Doomi celebrated Independence Day and Raksha Bandhan with great pride and enthusiasm in the school campus. The National flag was unfurled and the national anthem was sung with feeling of joy and pride. The students showcased immense feeling of patriotism through march past, cultural dance performances, group songs and skit. To celebrate Rakshabandhan, the little girls of the school tied rakhies to the boys of the school.
Sunrise Public School celebrated the Raksha Bandhan, the festival of bonding between brothers and sisters, with officers and Jawans of CRPF 76 Battalion based in Channi Himmat, Jammu. The students tied the rakhis to Jawans and prayed to the God for their long and healthy life. Deputy Commandant of the Battalion, Swantantras Shukla was the chief guest of the function.
Spring Dales Changran celebrated Raksha Bandhan in their school premises. Students made impressive rakhis with a message for their brothers and sisters.
Neel Kamal High School, Thathar (Bantalab, Jammu) celebrated Raksha Bandhan with Army personnel of 74 Field Regiment, Raipur. The girl students of the School tied rakhis on the wrist of Army personnel and also offered them sweets. The Army personnel presented return gifts to them.
Modern Montessori International Pre School Jammu celebrated Independence Day and Raksha Bandhan with unprecedented fervour. The gamut consisted of special morning assembly, slogans of freedom fighters and different performances. Principal of the School, Pragya Gupta highlighted the importance of Independence Day and hoisted the National Flag. The students from Nursery A and Nursery B sang national Anthem. While celebrating Raksha Bandhan, boys made greeting cards for their sisters and girls made Rakhis for their brothers. The Kindergarten students enacted as different freedom fighters. The ramp walk by Pre Nursery B enthralled everybody present there.
KIDZEE, a pre-school of Zee Learn Limited celebrated Independence Day and Raksha Bandhan at its branches in Talab Tillo, Gandhi Nagar and Channi Himmat with enthusiasm. The kids came in Tri-colour dresses while some were dressed as freedom fighters. Demonstration was also given to the toddlers on this occasion regarding Raksha Bandhan festival.
Mount Litera Zee School, Anand Nagar, Bohri and its Junior wing KIDZEE also celebrated Independence Day and Raksha Bandhan with great enthusiasm.
Mount Litera Zee School, Tarore celebrated the Independence Day with full enthusiasm where tributes were paid to the freedom fighters. Raksha Bandhan greetings were also extended by the kids among themselves.
Cradle2Crayons, the Award Winning School, Lower Roop Nagar celebrated Independence Day wherein the students prepared scores of tiny Tri-colour flags, distributed and affixed these at prominent places in the area and recited National Anthem and patriotic songs.
Steeping Stone School celebrated Independence Day with full enthusiasm wherein the programme commenced with special assembly in which little children recited different poem and songs echoing patriotism.
Skill Sharpening Playway School Panj Peer celebrated Independence Day with fervor and gaiety wherein the Principal of the School threw light on the significance of the day.
People in the twin border district of Rajouri-Poonch celebrated their 1st Independence Day after scrapping of Article 370 by carrying out Tiranga rally. BJP senior leader Vibodh Gupta joined the celebration and danced along with the people to drumbeats and distributed sweets. “I am overwhelmed and emotional watching Hindu-Muslim dancing on nationalist beats which is a tight slap on those who are running false and fake agenda on J&K”, Vibodh said whiel addressing the gathering.
Army Jawans of White Knight Corps celebrated Raskha Bandhan festival in Nagrota Military Station with great fervor and gaiety. A newsgroup through their special initiative on eve of Raksha bandhan handed over Rakhis, received by them from school children and Awaam of the entire country, to the Army Jawans, who tied those on their wrists and wished all the sisters health and happiness.
Women Club ‘Meri Pehchaan’ visited Bobiya in district Kathua to celebrate festival of Raksha Bandhan with the valiant soldiers guarding our border. Sandhya Gupta, the founder of the club, and the whole team of ‘ Meri Pehchaan’ including Meena Jaggi, Pooja Malhotra, Rajni Gupta and Neelam Bhardwaj took the initiative. Women of the villager and Seema Jan Kalyan Samitee members tied rakhis on the wrists of the army men.
