Increase Hajj pilgrims quota: Andrabi to Naqvi

MUMBAI, Oct 24: Minister of State for Hajj & Auqaf, Syed Farooq Ahmad Andrabi attended a high level meeting with Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi. The meeting was conducted to take stock of preparations and improvement for the Hajj pilgrimage 2017.
Councellate General Mohammad Noor Rahman Sheikh, Chairman Hajj Committee of India Mehboob Ali Kaiser, Senior Vice Chairman Hajj Committee of India Sultan Ahmad, Vice Chairman Hajj Committee of India Sheikh Jina Nabi, Joint Secretary Hajj & Wakaf, Ministry of Minority Affairs Jan-e-Alam, Chief Executive Officer Hajj Committee of India Atta-ur-Rehman and all officers of State Hajj Committees were present in this meeting.
During the meeting, Andrabi apprised of different demands to the Union Minister.
The demands included that pilgrims quota be increased for the State, State Hajj Committees (SHC) be allowed to edit HAF data before uploading on the website of Hajj Committee of India (HCoI) and direct Hajj flights from Srinagar to Medina Munawarah without any halt at Delhi airport to reduce the travel time and appointment of Nodal Officer from SHC-Kashmir at Makkah & Madina for the grievances, complaints and coordination between CGI, HCoI, Khadim-ul-Hujaj (Kuh) & pilgrims. The Minister also requested that necessary training be given to KuH who are drawn from Government departments.
Union Minister assured Andrabi that these demands will be fulfilled soon so that pilgrims from the State perform Hajj-2017 smoothly.
